  Pricing for media-based educational materials is based on the ultimate number of total or simultaneous users. Institutions are legally obligated to purchase these materials on an appropriate basis.
  Video tapes, DVD's and CD-ROM's sold at retail are for the sole use of the single purchaser only. Average retail prices for these formats may range from $20 to $100.
  Video tapes, DVD's and CD-ROM's purchased on an institutional level allow for an unlimited amount of users, but only one use or presentation at a time. As with retail sales, the product may not be copied or otherwise distributed. On the average prices for these formats on this level commonly range from $100 to $500.
A site license grants permission for a CD-ROM to be copied to unlimited computers on an institution's contiguous site. Unlimited simultaneous users are permitted, including groups.  
The product may not be used away from the institution's physical site.
Site licenses are usually granted for a one-time fee which may range from $250 to $1000.
Web licenses allow for 24/7 access to the product online from any location with a broadband internet connection via a password which once issued to an institution can be distributed to unlimited qualified users, who may access the protected site as individual users or groups. Typically web licenses are issued in a price range of $500 to $2500 annually.
